I took this photograph at Ecola State Park on the Oregon coast in 2024. It is easily my favorite nature photo that I've ever taken, and the most wonderful sunset I've experienced in my life. This image is completely unedited, and although it almost looks like a volcano, it's the sun setting over the trees and ocean, bathing the old trees and summer shrubbery in an shimmery orange glow. I ran around the park like a mad woman capturing this scene from all angles. It's one of my favorite memories. It reminds me that there is magic in everything. Including each of us.
