Here you’ll find a categorized list of gear I use and love. I happily recommend them to you.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography was my first love and we’ve been together for the past 9 years. Many friends have asked me for advice on choosing a camera and lenses.
You don’t have to buy the newest, flashiest, most expensive camera to be a great photographer. I’ve taken almost every photo in the slideshow above, including paid assignments, with only the following gear:
Canon EOS Rebel T1i 15.1 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3-Inch LCD (Body Only)
and Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens
Start with the basics, and purchase other lenses later when you know exactly what you want to shoot. I bought the Canon EFS 70-200 when I started shooting musicians at live gigs as seen in the slideshow below.
BOOKS
I’m working on my very first book, and you can find out more about it here.
I recommend purchasing through Better World Books, as a portion supports literacy projects and shipping is free.
Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferazzi
4-Hour-Workweek by Tim Ferriss
The Power of Full Engagement by Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz
Tao Te Ching by Lao Tsu
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
The Secret Life Of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
Now Is The Time by Patrick Lindsay
As far as e-books go, I have this Kindle Keyboard. It’s not the latest version, but I think its the bees knees. Its great for traveling (I can fit as many books as I want in one tiny package), reading in the sun (no glare), reading for many hours (its not an LCD screen and the e-ink technology doesn’t cause any strain), getting books in any language in a matter of seconds, checking email/internet on the road, highlighting, and the built-in dictionary.
Please note I am an affiliate for Better World Books. That means whenever I refer a customer to them, they give me a share of that sale. You pay the same price you always would; the only difference is where that money goes. Its awesome because I get money for recommending my favorite books that I’d tell you about anyways. I would never recommend a product I didn’t believe in. Win-win-win situation.
